Clarification for CPE questions:

You can get clinic hours for observing/attending the VISA championship competition. Senior competition was worth max of 2 hours and junior was worth max of 3.5 hours. Please keep your ticket stubs for your records.

Credits earned during the months of June and July can be applied to either the past year or the next year (not both though). So if you went to an event in July and already had all your credits for the past year, you can submit those for the next cycle.

CPE REPORTS  2011

  • Reports MUST be into the CPE coordinator by June 30, 2011

  • August 1, 2010 to July 31, 2011

  • Your information must be in to be assigned during the 2010-2011 judging season.

  • New judges can send in what they have, but have through the next cycle to officially report.

  • Please refer to the guidelines below for filling out your ANNUAL report.

Continuing Professional Education (CPE) Rules

  • CPE credits are awarded for two categories of learning experiences -- clinics, and miscellaneous.

  • MAXIMUM FOR VOLUNTEER HOURS 4

  • MAXIMUM FOR COACHING 6

  • MAXIMUM IN GYM WITH GYMNASTS JUDGING 6

  • AT LEAST 50% MUST BE CLINICS

  • Clinics used for CPE credit must be sanctioned by USAG and approved by the USAG State Chairman and NAWGJ State Judging Director.  At least half of CPE credits must be from approved clinics.

  • Miscellaneous includes activities such as coaching, in-gym critiques, volunteering, and practice judging.

CPE credits are measured in hours, so the number required is greater than the number of credits that were required for Active Status.  However, the actual hours involved will not increase.  Different ratings have different numbers of hours required.

A portion of extra CPE credits s earned one year may be carried forward to the next year (see judging level for amount allowed for carry over).

Judging at least 3 meets a year is no longer required.

Practice judging is no longer required to test at a higher level.  However it is still allowed for miscellaneous CPE credits with approval.

Judges are required to keep their own records of CPE credits earned and submit an annual report to the state coordinator.    Judges are required to keep the original CPE cards.  Random checks will be made, and judges must be able to produce the actual card from an event.
